Wasis Diop
, originally born in Senegal, now makes his home in Paris, but returns to his homeland frequently. He is a singer, musician, and composser who produced a brillant soundtrack for the feature film, "Hyenes," directed by his brother Djibril Diop Mambety. Diop's most recent album features the hit song "African Dream."
"This ageless artist strikes a balance between the songs of a hallucinating Muslim priest calling his flock to prayer and the ageless, gentle storytelling of the Savannah."
